Twitbin is a Firefox extension to do some basic action (read and post) on your Twitter account, directly from the sidebar of our favourite browser.
The only spot of this extension is the advertisement included at the bottom of the sidebar. Since Firefox extensions are just some JavaScript and some XUL, it should be possible to edit the code of Twitbin to erase advertisements. Actually, if you have a look to the code, you will find it’s much easier: Twitbin is not a real extension but a web page loading in the sidebar. Knowing that you can use Adblock or Adblock Plus to stop advertisement.
To do that you have to load the page www.twitbin.com/beta in a normal tab (enter the address or just click on the link), and then right click the banner and choose Adblock iFrame (or a similar action for your favourite Ad Stopper). Then change the last part of the filter, as shown in the picture, with ‘*‘: the resulting filter should be “http://zone02.adicate.com/ad/*“.
After this filter, you will still have the gray bar on the bottom: just right click on it and choose Adblock Background: just leave the filter as is. That’s all.
